International Youth Volleyball Tournament

The International Youth Tournament of SV Dynamo Apeldoorn guarantees three days of top-level volleyball with the best youth teams from the Netherlands and beyond. For many clubs, the youth tournament has been the ideal preparation for the Open Club (National Championships for club teams). Foreign top youth teams see the tournament as a unique opportunity to measure their strength against European opponents.

Dates and Times

The tournament takes place annually on December 27th, 28th, and 29th.

• December 27th: Group matches. The first matches start at 10:00 am and will be played until around 10:00 pm.
• December 28th: Group matches. The first matches start at 9:00 am and will be played until 9:00 pm, after which all participants can join the party evening in the Dynamo Café.
• December 29th: Decisive matches and finals. The first matches start at 9:00 am. The tournament ends with the finals, which start around 4:00 pm. Immediately after the last final, the champions will be honored during the awards ceremony (around 6:00 pm). Each winner will receive a trophy and may call themselves the 11TeamSports International Youth Volleyball Champion for a year.

The matches are played in the beautiful Omnisport Apeldoorn sports complex and the nearby WSV sports hall (Zaal de Voorwaarts).

Registration

Registration is possible until October 27, 2024. The registration fee for participation in the 2024 tournament is €260 per team (up to 14 people). For any additional persons, there is a surcharge of €15 per person. This includes lunch for all days, a spectacular DJ party on December 28th, and free physiotherapy during the match days.

When registering, we ask you to indicate the skill level of your team. This helps us create a participant field that ensures exciting matches every year.

Age Categories

• Boys and Girls C (U15): Born in 2010 or later
• Boys and Girls B (U17): Born in 2008 or later
• Boys and Girls A (U19): Born in 2006 or later

PLEASE NOTE:
Starting this year, we will be using an age limit based on international rules rather than the stricter Dutch NeVoBo age limits. This aligns better with the age categories of foreign teams and reduces the need for discussions about dispensation.

Accommodation

For teams wishing to stay overnight, we offer special hotel deals at one of the four contracted Fletcher hotels (prices start from €45 per person per night, including breakfast).

Fletcher Hotels: De Wipselberg Beekbergen, Huis te Eerbeek, Het Veluwse Bos in Beekbergen, and Fletcher Apeldoorn.
The cost is €45 per person per night (excluding tourist tax) based on two people in a double room, with breakfast included. The hotel assigns the rooms.

Single rooms can also be booked for €65 per person per night (excluding tourist tax), including breakfast.

Dinners

If you wish to enjoy a hot meal in the Omnisport Arena on the evenings of December 27th and/or 28th, you can order dinner vouchers for €8 each (vegetarian options are available). Hot meals will be served between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, ensuring teams have enough time to eat between matches.

Food and Drinks

Lunches on December 27th, 28th, and 29th are included in the registration fee and will be served buffet-style between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. In addition to the organized lunches and dinners, both the Dynamo Café and WSV canteen have well-equipped kitchens. You can order items like toasted sandwiches, croquettes, and fries at any time.

Tournament Shirts

Numbered tournament shirts can be ordered for €15 each. More information is available in the registration form. The shirts are high-quality (polyester sports shirts from the brand Gideon) and serve as a valuable memento for many players of an unforgettable tournament.

Playing level and qualification

In recent years, the popularity of our tournament has grown so much that, unfortunately, we cannot confirm participation for all interested teams. If there are too many registrations, selection will be based on playing level. The strength of registered teams is assessed based on the leagues in which the players compete. This helps us create a well-matched tournament for all teams. Preference is given to club teams, but ad hoc teams may be allowed if there are enough open spots.
Estimating the skill level of foreign teams is generally more challenging, which sometimes leads to stronger Dutch teams being left out in favor of foreign teams. As organizers of an international tournament, we are also responsible for maintaining a good balance between domestic and foreign teams. We aim for a ratio of 70% Dutch teams and 30% foreign teams. This may lead to difficult choices when selecting teams, and we ask for your understanding in this matter.

Billing and Payment

Once participation of your team has been confirmed, an invoice will be sent for the registration fee, including any extras such as dinner vouchers, hotel stays, and tournament shirts. Please note: your team’s participation is only guaranteed once the invoice has been paid in full.
